What does electronic signature software mean?
The electronic or digital signature program is an application that records data in electronic form that serve as a method of identification / confirmation. This confirmation certifies that the digital message or document has been read, understood and approved by both parties involved. It is also attested that the document has not been modified since the date of signing.
How electronic signature software works
From a technical point of view, the electronic signature software applies a hash code to the document and thus obtains a fingerprint. With the help of an algorithm, the private key (personal signature) is then applied over the document's fingerprint. By overlapping the two, the electronic signature result is obtained.
The three algorithms on which this mechanism is based are the random selection algorithm of a private key that will be associated with a public key, the signing algorithm, which will generate the digital signature and the verification algorithm, which will accept or reject the compliance message .
You cannot sign a digital document if you do not have access to an electronic signature creation application. Any document signed in digital format is considered authentic and cannot be challenged. Any subsequent changes will lead to the creation of a new random key and thus this operation will be detected, leading to the conclusion that the content of the document has been altered.
