Company
Deutsche Leasing International is a German company, founded 45 years ago with the purpose to offer support to equipment producers in metalworking, plastic, agricultural, printing and industrial machinery field. The development of the company was closely followed by the  expansion of the leasing company in almost the entire Europe, USA and China.

Deutsche Leasing entered the Romanian Market on the summer of 2008, with the purpose of offering its local partners the same financing conditions like in any other country. The timing for opening  the office was, in this particular case, a positive one due to the fact that the company had the possibility to build a clean client portfolio, thus eliminating from the beginning problems that other market players are now facing.

Situation
In order to efficiently manage the business, Deutsche Leasing searched for an integrated software system that could cover its most complex and specific needs, without being especially developed for it.

The decision to implement Charisma was made considering both management reasons, as Cedric Chilian, Managing Director, sustains and operational, practical ones. ”What we were looking for was flexibility, and in the same time adjustment to the Romanian market, taking into consideration that we are regulated by the National Bank and we must be in line with the requirements imposed by this institution and with certain parameters necessary in the reporting process. This was an important factor in choosing a company and a local solution that would meet the market needs, BNR requirements and be a trustworthy partner in order to run correctly our activity.”

Solution
From the point of view of the functionalities and real possibilities of adjusting the solution to its specific, Florin Maxim, IT Manager, highlights: „A major role was played by the accounting department, covered very well by Charisma, the only functional banking accounting solution at the time, in accordance with RNB regulations, the implementation of the new system being performed without any special effort”.

Another major aspect was that the Charisma suite offered by TotalSoft was delivered together with a vast know-how in this field, and its modules covered most of Deutsche Leasing needs, even if they addressed the market with completely new products.

In order to cover all business aspects, Deutsche Leasing has built a software infrastructure whose core is the ERP system – Charisma, which has been implemented together with a series of complementary applications such as document management, BI, alerter, self-service, web- leasing. The infrastructure is provided by TotalSoft to sustain its entire activity, no matter how fast it will increase or diversify.

Adapting the solution and adding new modules according to new requirements from the market, are permanent. Thus, a web leasing module is the newest request from Deutsche Leasing, this module offering more flexibility, giving their partners the opportunity to bid directly from the system.

Results
Currently, Deutsche Leasing may approve within hours a financing application, which on average falls between 150 000-200 000 Euros, also due to the software infrastructure based on Charisma.

In addition, developing specific functionalities such as inventory financing credit, the company can track the entire workflow and financial credits granted for goods in partners’ stocks.

Since the business is going well, the future plans between the two companies are obvious: “the market is evolving, our business is growing, the requirements towards Charisma will continue to exist” Cedric Chilian, Managing Director.

Romania is not the only country where Deutsche Leasing operates with Charisma. The businesses in Bulgaria, Austria, Spain, Portugal and Brazil are based on the same system.
