Doosan IMGB, a member of the group DOOSAN in South Korea, manufactures for export steel castings and forgings. The company ended 2007 with a turnover of USD 76 million and a production of 48,000 tonnes of liquid steel. For 2008 the management has proposed to increase the turnover to U.S. $ 130 million and production to 100 thousand tons of liquid steel.
Doosan IMGB exports to countries such as China, Brazil, India, Korea, USA and has plans to become the largest company in Europe.
The decision to acquire a professional management system dedicated to human resources and payroll activity and an Access-timesheet component was made in September 2000; at the time the company had over 2,000 employees and the human resources and payroll departments struggled to cope with the difficult activity, the salary calculation requiring a team of 10 people.
As in all such cases, the company conducted a market research regarding software providers and their solutions for this field and finally decided that TotalSoft’s HR system, Charisma HCM best suited their needs in terms of technical, business needs and usage.
TotalSoft offered its own solution, consisting of a central human resources module, as well as a payroll and an access-timesheet modules in order to collect the data necessary and to deliver them for the salary calculation. The company also wanted a strict control of those who entered the factory and a clear record of hours worked by employees.
The implementation took several months because it started encoding functions and assigning them to jobs based on the organizational chart. This was followed by importing data from the old system and carry out specific reports of the company ‘s activity.
“Charisma HCM has grown along with us. By the time we have chosen to collaborate with TotalSoft the system was fairly new on the market. We knew what we wanted and TotalSoft implemented our requirements. It was an exchange which resulted in a partnership that lasted nearly eight years.”

Few months, the company used Charisma together with the old application and when the management realized that there were no problems at all to arise, they totally dropped the previous application and used only Charisma.
Among benefits recalled by Doosan the following can be distinguished: single database comprising human resources information, data accuracy, payroll calculation automation, conformity with the legislation in force, tax file issuance, reduction in the number of employees of the HR department etc.

However, Doosan IMGB is still using the first version of Charisma HCM, which according to the company continues to address human resources and payroll problems.
When asked to make a comparison between investment and benefits, Mr. Florin Antonescu, Management Director at Doosan IMGB said: “If nobody complained until now about the system or TotalSoft team, it means that the investment was worth our money. “
